Maria Elisa Ayerbe is a Latin Grammy winning engineer and Latin Grammy and GRAMMY multiple nominated producer and composer living in Miami, with more than 15 years of experience in recording, mixing, music production, and audio post production.

Maria Elisa has been part of the musical productions for artists such as Mary J Blige, Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, JLo, Natti Natasha, Il Divo, Laura Pausini, Juanes, New Kids on the Block, Aterciopelados, Gian Marco, Kronos Quartet, Adriana Lucia, among many others. 

Maria Elisa received two Latin Grammy nominations as a producer and engineer for Paulina Arenas’ A Ciegas album and her song Déjame Llorarte in 2023.

  • Paula Arenas - Visceral: Two Latin Grammy Awards nominations. Album of the Year and Best Traditional Pop Album in 2019. Participation as Recording engineer.

  • Aterciopelados - Tropiplop: Latin Grammy Awards nomination for Best Alternative Album in 2021. Participation as Mixing engineer.

  • Petrona Martinez - Ancestras: Latin Grammy winner for Best Folclore Album in 2021. Awarded as Mixing engineer

  • Paula Arenas - Mis Amores: Four Latin Grammy Awards nominations: Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. Nominated as Producer, Recording engineer, Mixing Engineer, Songwriter.

Maria Elisa has been recognized by the Latin Recording Academy® with the Leading Ladies of Entertainment honor in 2019, for her outstanding performance as a professional and socially conscious woman within the arts and entertainment fields, inspiring the next generation of female leaders. 

Since 2015, Maria has worked as recording and mixing engineer at Art House Studios, founded by multi-awarded GRAMMY and Latin Grammy producer Julio Reyes Copello, for the most important Latin and US Latin artists in the industry.

In 2016, Maria Elisa created the independent label South Mountain Music, as a platform to develop and produce inspiring music from upcoming and talented Latin America artists.

She has served as Trustee of the Recording Academy, Producers & Engineers Wing Steering Committee member and Florida Chapter Board Governor.

Since 2007, Maria Elisa has worked as university professor teaching several courses related with audio and music in Colombia, USA, Mexico, Chile, and Spain. She has moderated panels and discussions for Grammy U, Music Expo, IMSTA Fest, and The Recording Academy, among many others in past years.

  • Post-production sound supervisor for reality show Protagonistas de Nuestra Tele, aired by RCN TV and watched by over 10 million people. 2010.

  • TV series El Regreso a la Guaca, aired by RCN TV. 2009. 

  • TV series Los Caballeros Las Prefieren Brutas, aired by Sony Entertainment Television Latinoamerica. 2010.

  • Film Undertow (Contracorriente), chosen as the Peruvian Official Selection film for the Oscar’s Foreign Film Category in 2009.

  • Film Sin Retorno is a Mexican film, directed, written and starred by Guillermo Iván and Erik Hayser. Produced by Arte Post. 2009.

  • Assistant musical director for Kiltro, Chilean martial arts film released in 2006. Directed and written by Ernesto Díaz Espinoza and starring the martial artist Marko Zaror. 2006.

  • Live Sound Engineer for "Ansio los Alpes, Asi Nacen los Lagos" performance by Colombian's renowned theatre company MAPA Teatro, presented at international theater festivals in Colombia, Ecuador and Chile. 2009-2010.
